Sample question: Computers are being used more and more in education. Some people say that this is a positive trend, while others argued that it is leading to negative consequences. Discuss both the sides of arguments and give your own opinion.

(Paraphrased statement)There is an ever increasing use of technology such as laptops and tablets in the classroom. It is often argued that this is a positive development while others disagree and think it will lead to adverse ramifications.(Thesis statement) It is agreed that increase in technology is beneficial to both the students and teachers.( Outline statement) essay will discuss both points of view before coming to a reasoned  conclusion.

(First view) It is clear that internet has provided the students with access to more information that ever before.(Details) Moreover, learners have the ability to research and learn about any subject at the touch of the button.(Agreed)  It is therefore, agreed that technology is very worthwhile for education. (Example) Wikipedia is prime example where students can simply type in any keyword and gain access to in depth knowledge quickly and easily.

(Second view)However, many disagree and feel that the technology deprives people of real human interaction teaches the people valuable skills such as debate , discourse and empathy.(Details) Despite this, Human interaction is still possible through the internet and this essays disagrees that the technology should be dismissed for this reason. (Example)For instance, Skype and facebook make it possible for the people to interact in the ways that were never possible before.

(Summary) In conclusion, while the benefits of technology particularly the internet, allows the students to tap into limitless sources of information, some still feel that people should  be worry of this new phenomena and  not allow it to curb face to face interaction. (Opinion) However, as long as we are careful to keep in mind the of human interaction in education, the technology benefits are clearly positive.
