Reading tips for IELTS exam which makes easier for candidate to get required bands

Reading is considered as one of the toughest task in IELTS exam which needs a lot of concentration of your mind to comprehend it and answer the questions. Student get a different set of question in reading module and here are some tips to tackle with these questions :-

1) A student will get 3 passages on different topics and total 40 questions, these can be related with any field so, no  need to worry because there is no need to get attached with the topic or to go in depth of the topic just take a overview of the topic by reading heading and first paragraph of each passage.

2) Do not read  slowly. Try to read fast, it means that in which u can get the overview easily. This       process is called SKIMMING( reading or glancing through the passage quickly). Try to read         all the lines, the benefit of this, u can create a chain of the questions right from the question             first.

3) Do not spend much time on one passage or do not stick with on question, set the target of  1         minute per question and try to follow this table of timings

    17 minutes for 1st passage
    20 minutes for 2nd passage
    23 minutes for 3rd passage.

4) Go question by question, like never start from the 10th question or in between the passage just
by matching the one key word, try to understand the meaning of the question first then look for       its answer in the passage or it would be more convenient if u go through the each paragraph of       passage from the very start. It makes more easier to find answer of the questions in serial wise       and there would be no need to look back again at the first paragraph. For instance, if u got the         answer of 7th question in 4th paragraph of the passage, in case of FILL UPS and TRUE/FALSE     then u ll get the answer of next questions in next lines and following paragraphs and the reason       being is 90% of the questions like fill in the blanks and true false are set in the chain. So                  there would be rare chances to look back

5) Rule thumb of the reading is to read questions first then start reading passage, it works in               all type of exams and as far as comprehension is concerned, like raising the understanding
level of reading in just one read, so it totally depends on practice. For that purposes start                 reading Novels and Auditorial page and its articles of ENGLISH NEWSPAPERS and                       MAGAZINES. It not only helps to increase readings skills , infact, it also improves our vocab.

These are the basic tips of reading. Start your module by keeping these tips in your mind and stay in tune for more individual tips for all kind of sets and module.
